Job summary

The Town of North Kingstown is seeking a Part Time Bus Driver for Senior Services. The role operates a lift-equipped 15- or 18-passenger shuttle to transport older adults to the Senior Center, appointments, errands and special trips.

Responsibilities include completing trip logs, vehicle inspections, reporting issues, and keeping the vehicle clean and maintained. CPR/First Aid required within 6 months of hire; RI license with passenger endorsement is required.

Qualifications

• Valid Rhode Island driver’s license with passenger endorsement and a satisfactory driving record required.
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred but not required.
• Ability to work effectively with older adults and the general public.
• Ability to monitor vehicle performance and follow scheduled maintenance requirements.
• Ability to work cooperatively with Highway Department mechanics on vehicle upkeep and repairs.
• Ability to safely operate a passenger vehicle and follow a flexible schedule.
• CPR/First Aid certification required within 6 months of hire.

BUS DRIVER

Part Time - Senior Services

The Bus Driver is responsible for operating a lift-equipped, 15- or 18-passenger midsized shuttle bus to transport older adults to the Senior Center, shopping destinations, medical appointments, banking, essential errands, and various special trips. Duties include maintaining accurate trip records and logs, performing vehicle inspections, reporting mechanical issues to Highway Department mechanics, and keeping the vehicle clean and properly maintained according to the established schedule. Drivers must follow all transportation policies provided.

Qualifications
