Job Description

Title: Bus Driver

Qualifications: Hold a minimum Class B CDL drivers license with Missouri School Bus Passenger License Endorsement. Required to complete and pass a background check as designated by the school district in accordance with Missouri State Law. Demonstrated success in performing tasks as outlined in the Responsibility list below.

Reports To: Director of Transportation

Job Goal: Periodically replace a regular driver and provide students with safe and dependable transportation.

Performance Responsibilities:

1. Conduct a daily pre-trip inspection.
2. Know and understand emergency evacuation drills.
3. Must hold a minimum Class B CDL drivers license with Missouri School Bus Passenger License.
4. Operate the school bus in accordance with all traffic laws.
5. Deal with emergencies in a quiet and efficient manner.
6. Inform bus mechanic of any problems or repairs needed to the bus.
7. Maintain discipline on buses and report problems to the Director of Transportation.
8. Immediately report any accidents to the superintendent and Director of Transportation.
9. Maintain cleanliness of bus.
10. Ensure that all windows are in the up position before exiting the bus.
11. At the end of each route, physically walk to the back of the bus to check for children and items that might still be on the bus.
12. Undergo pre-employment drug screening and random drug testing throughout the school year.
13. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or superintendent.

Terms of Employment: On call

Evaluation: Annually by Director of Transportation.
