Support Staff Position
Title: Bus Driver
Qualifications: CDL license class B, Air Brake Endorsement, Passenger and S Endorsement, criminal background check, and pre-employment drug test
Reports to: Director of Transportation
Job Goal: To provide safe transportation to all students and staff.
PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
1. Employed for 174 days according to a salary schedule adopted by the Board of Education.
2. Expected to attend a one-day workshop prior to the start of school and the monthly driver’s meetings.
3. Performs daily pre-trip inspections, submits daily documentation, and reports any bus malfunctions or needed repairs.
4. Complies with traffic regulations in order to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner.
5. Exhibits an attitude of cooperation toward the administrators, mechanic, and the Director of Transportation.
6. Keeps the bus clean inside and out.
7. Passes an annual physical exam as required by law. A health certificate must be on file in the office of the Director of Transportation prior to the start of school.
8. Maintains safe driving record.
9. Current legal driving license and endorsements as required by Missouri state and federal Laws. (A failure to maintain the required licenses will be grounds for dismissal)
10. Submits to random drug and/or alcohol tests as requested by the Director of Transportation and required by state and federal laws.
11. Conducts an evacuation drill, as required by state laws, at least once in the fall and once in the spring.
12. Other duties, not specifically mentioned above, may be assigned by the Director of Transportation, Assistant Director of Transportation, or Superintendent of Schools.
