Job summary

Laclede County District R-1 School seeks a Bus Driver to periodically replace a regular driver and provide students with safe and dependable transportation.

Candidates must hold a Class B CDL with Missouri School Bus Passenger License Endorsement, pass a background check and drug screening, and follow all district policies while operating school buses. On-call with annual evaluation by the Director of Transportation.

Qualifications

• Must hold Class B CDL with Missouri School Bus Passenger License Endorsement.
• Background check required by school district per Missouri State Law.
• Pre-employment drug screening and random drug testing through the school year.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a daily pre-trip inspection.
• Know and understand emergency evacuation drills.
• Operate the school bus in accordance with all traffic laws.
• Maintain discipline on buses and report problems to the Director of Transportation or principal.
• Immediately report any accidents to the superintendent and Director of Transportation.
• Maintain cleanliness of bus and ensure windows are closed when exiting.
• Check the back of the bus for students and items at end of route.

Job description

Title: Bus Driver Qualifications:

Hold a minimum Class B CDL drivers license with Missouri School Bus Passenger License Endorsement. Required to complete and pass a background check as designated by the school district in accordance with Missouri State Law. Demonstrated success in performing tasks as outlined in the Reponsibility list below

Reports To:

Director of Transportation

Job Goal:

Periodically replace a regular driver and provide students with safe and dependable transportation.

Performance Responsibility:

1. Conduct a daily pre-trip inspection.
2. Know and understand emergency evacuation drills.
3. Must hold a minimum Class B CDL drivers license with Missouri School Bus Passenger License Endorsement.
4. Operate the school bus in accordance with all traffic laws.
5. Deals with emergencies in a quiet and efficient manner.
6. Informs bus mechanic of any problems or repairs needed to the bus.
7. Maintains discipline on buses and reports problems to the Director of Transportation and/or appropriate principal.
8. Immediately reports any accidents to the superintendent and Director of Transportation.
9. Maintains cleanliness of bus.
10. Ensures that all windows are in the up position before exiting the bus.
11. At the end of each route, physically walks to the back of the bus to check for children and items that might still be on the bus.
12. Undergoes pre-employment drug screening and random drug testing throught the school year.
13. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or superintendent.
