Job summary

Lexington County School District One seeks a Bus Assistant to support student safety and comfort during transportation. Under close supervision of the transportation supervisor, you will assist students getting on and off the bus and monitor conduct to ensure a safe ride.

Responsibilities include aiding drivers, operating a wheelchair lift for disabled students, and coordinating with parents and teachers as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Experience in working with children and persons with special needs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety of students being transported under supervision.
• Assist students getting on and off the bus.
• Monitor student behavior and communicate any issues to the driver.
• Assist disabled students using a wheelchair lift and provide other required assistance.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information and participate in required trainings.
