Job summary

Falmouth Public Schools is seeking bus aides and bus/van drivers for the 2025-2026 school year in East Falmouth, MA. Part-time positions offer the chance to support safe student transportation and assist handicapped students with getting on and off vehicles.

Responsibilities include ensuring proper seating and seat belt use, maintaining order on the vehicle, and assisting students to and from school. CPR/first aid and required licenses depending on role; substitutes may require CDL or 7D license

Qualifications

  • Ability to relate well with the public.
  • Experience with Special Needs children preferred.
  • Sign language skills preferred.
  • CPR and first aid training required.
  • Bus Driver Substitutes require CDL and medical exam; Van Drivers Substitutes require 7D license and medical exam.
  • Bus Aides have opportunity to secure 7D license.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the bus/van operator in transporting a small number of handicapped children to and from school
  • Responsible for seeing that pupils are placed on the bus/van safely, are properly seated, and seat belts and/or harnesses are applied
  • Serve as a comforting influence during occasional emotional or physical outbursts
  • Aid students off/on the bus/van assisting them into the school or to their homes
  • Maintain order on the vehicle at all times

2025-2026 School Year (Full and Part-Time hours available)

Assist in providing daily safe transportation of students to and from programs within the town and to other out of district locations.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to relate well with the public
  • Experience working with Special Needs children preferred
  • Sign language skills preferred
  • CPR and first aid training required
  • Bus Driver Substitutes CDL and medical exam required, Van Drivers Substitutes 7D license and medical exam required
  • Bus Aides (opportunity to secure 7D license available)
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may deem appropriate and acceptable

Salary: In accordance with the Non-Union Personnel Guidelines and Benefits.

Position Type: Part-Time

Salary: $19.87 to $30.37 Per Hour
