Job summary

Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is hiring a full-time Paraprofessional to support students on bus transportation and in classrooms. The Bus Aide will assist students with disabilities boarding and exiting, ensure seating and safety, and cooperate with teachers and drivers to maintain a calm, respectful environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students, including those with disabilities.
• Ability to follow safety procedures for bus transport and student care.
• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff, students, and families.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with disabilities in boarding and exiting the bus safely.
• Ensure students are seated and secured properly during transit.
• Support students with mobility challenges, including wheelchairs as needed.
• Monitor behavior and maintain a safe environment on the bus.
• Communicate with the bus driver and school staff about issues during transport.
• Attend to individual student needs, including basic personal care when required.
• Follow safety and emergency procedures during incidents on the bus.
• Assist with additional tasks around the school when needed.
