Job description

BUS AIDE – Floater

Hours: 6:10am – 8:00am & 2:00pm – 4:15pm

* needs to be available until 9:30am or 5pm – may depend on covered schedule



Summary: Assists in providing safe transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district's curriculum and extracurricular program.



Duties and Responsibilities


  • Assists the bus driver in maintaining good conduct of all students assigned to the aide.

  • Assists young or disabled students in getting on and off the bus.

  • Provides basic first aid and administers prescription medications as needed.

  • Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.

  • Demonstrates positive relationship with students, staff and parents.

  • Establishes a supportive and empathetic relationship with students.

  • Performs related duties as assigned by supervisors.



Qualifications


  • Valid Ohio Student Monitor Permit (may be obtained after employment).

  • Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license.

  • Must pass criminal background check.



Conditions of Employment


  • Effective Date: ASAP.

  • Terms of Employment: One‑year probationary period.

  • Hours of Work: 6:10am – 8:00am and 2:00pm – 4:15pm (approx. 4 hours). Included the requirement to remain on the bus until 9:30am or 5pm as noted above.

  • Salary: $16.25/hour according to the current negotiated agreement.
