Park County School District 6 is seeking a part-time Bus Aide to support student safety during school transportation. The position covers 2-4 hours per day with a wage ranging from $19.20 to $31.70 per hour.
Responsibilities include enforcing safety policies, monitoring student behavior on and around the bus area, and communicating observations to the Director of Transportation. CPR/First Aid certification is required for this role.

The job of Bus Aide is performed to support the instructional process with responsibilities for ensuring the safety and welfare of students in transit to and/or from school, and for communicating observations or incidents that may impact student well-being.
This job reports to the Director of Transportation.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Skills are required to perform multiple tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill-based competencies required include adhering to safety practices and administering first aid; enforcing rules and regulations.
Knowledge is required to perform basic math; read and follow instructions; and understand multi-step written and oral instructions. Specific knowledge-based competencies include safety practices and procedures; traffic laws.
Ability is required to schedule activities and/or meetings; collate data; use basic, job-related equipment. Flexibility to work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing defined processes; operate equipment using defined methods. Ability to work with a diverse set of individuals; work with specific, job-related data; and utilize specific, job-related equipment. Problem-solving is required to identify issues and create action plans, with prescribed guidelines for data-related problems and moderate limitations for equipment-related problems. Specific ability-based competencies include displaying tact and courtesy; attention to detail; sound emotional control; superior human relations skills with people of all ages; and maintaining confidentiality.
Responsibilities include working under direct supervision using standardized procedures; providing information and/or advising others; operating within a defined budget. The position requires patience, critical thinking, initiative, and the ability to manage a large group of middle school students in a spacious environment.
The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require physical demands such as lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, and significant fine finger dexterity. The job typically involves 0% sitting, 70% walking, and 30% standing, and is performed under temperature extremes with exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.
Job-related experience is desired. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
CPR/First Aid Certificate.

Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance.
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt; Salary Grade: $19.20 - $31.70.
