Job summary

Hormel Foods in Nevada, IA is seeking a Team Leader for the Burke Plant to lead and mentor a production team, ensuring efficient line performance and on-time delivery.

You will oversee resources, drive safety and quality initiatives, and coordinate with shifts to meet production goals while maintaining a collaborative, high‑performing environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ year as a shift lead, shift supervisor, assistant manager, etc. OR Associates Degree.
• Proven leadership, persuasive, initiative, analytical, and communication skills are necessary for success in this position.
• Applicants must not now, or at any time in the future, require employer sponsorship for a work visa.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
• Must be 18 years of age or older (all plant positions).
• Must be able to work “on their feet” in the production area about 80% of the shift.

Training

• Approximately six weeks are spent in a hands‑on training environment before being assigned to a department.
• Team Leaders attend a virtual new employee orientation. This will include presentations by different divisions to increase product knowledge, company knowledge, and leadership skills
• 6-month operational training program while on the job.
• Team leader will start on 1st shift for training; but will be moved to 2nd after training is completed

• Must be flexible for 1st and/or 2nd shift Production
• Extended hours may be needed-including weekends.
• Team Leaders will potentially work in environments below 40 degrees and in areas more than 60 degrees.

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for this role is between $70,000-$82,500 per year, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job‑related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
