Job summary

Uniti seeks a Buried Drop Technician to perform the physical installation of buried copper, fiber, and coaxial cable from the network hub to customers’ residences. Travel overnight, including out-of-state, is required. The role involves high safety standards as it is a safety sensitive position.

You will create strong connections with customers, interpret work drawings, and promote Uniti services. Training new staff and operating required equipment are also part of the job.

Qualifications

• Basic technology and math skills required.
• Color differentiation ability.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
• Overnight travel may be required, including out-of-state.
• Pre-employment DOT physical and valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Install buried copper, fiber, and coaxial drop cables from hub to customers’ residence.
• Use technical knowledge to connect customers with services and promote products.
• Interpret drawings and complete required paperwork.
• Train new employees on daily tasks.
• Operate handheld computer for job tasks and locate underground facilities as needed.
• Perform trenching and burying operations and use related machinery.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
