Job summary

Kinetic, a business unit of Uniti Group Inc., seeks a Buried Drop Technician to install copper, fiber, and coaxial drops from the network hub to customers’ homes. This hands-on role emphasizes safety, customer service, and precise work in outdoor environments.

You will read drawings, perform locates, operate trenching and boring equipment, and promote Kinetic products while ensuring quality connections for customers. This is an entry-level full-time role with union bidding considerations.

Qualifications

• Ability to walk long distances while carrying equipment.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Willingness to undergo pre-employment screenings including DOT.
• Experience with buried cable or fiber installation is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Install buried copper, fiber, and coaxial drop cable from hub to customers’ homes.
• Interpret drawings and instructions and complete paperwork.
• Promote Kinetic products and services to customers.
• Train new employees in daily job functions.
• Operate hand-held computer for task retrieval and updates.
• Perform underground locates and operate trenching/boring equipment as needed.
• Ensure safety and quality in outdoor field work.
