Job summary

Kinetic, a Uniti business unit, is hiring a Buried Drop Technician to install copper, fiber, and coax from the network hub to customers' homes. This entry-level full-time field role focuses on safety, quality installations, and delivering reliable internet and voice services.

You will interpret drawings, promote Kinetic products, train new employees, use handheld computers, and perform trenching, locates, and related tasks while maintaining strong customer service and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Basic technology and math skills.
• Ability to distinguish colors present in color-coded cable.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds.
• Must obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Ability to pass pre-employment DOT physical.
• Previous experience with buried cable or fiber installation is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Install buried copper, fiber, and coaxial drop cable to connect Kinetic’s network to customers’ homes.
• Use technical and customer-focus to create meaningful connections with customers.
• Interpret work drawings and complete paperwork.
• Sell and promote Kinetic products and services.
• Train new employees in daily job functions.
• Operate a handheld computer for task retrieval and clearance.
• Perform locates on underground facilities when applicable.
• Operate trenching and boring equipment for burying cables.
• Complete all other assigned tasks.
