Job summary

Saint-Gobain is seeking a Bundler Operator – Level 1 to join the Dry End team in North Carolina. This hands-on role focuses on safe forklift operation, moving wallboard, and supporting product flow while performing quality checks and data logging.

You will work a rotating 12.5-hour day and night schedule, operate equipment, and assist with changeovers and housekeeping. Prior forklift and manufacturing experience is required, with a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1 year of manufacturing/production experience and 1 year of forklift experience required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication and basic computer skills.
  • On-site manufacturing role with rotating 12.5-hour day and night shifts.
  • Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments and may involve varying temperatures, dust, and wet conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a sit-down forklift to move finished wallboard, non-conforming product, raw materials, and equipment parts to designated plant locations.
  • Support continuous production flow by monitoring bundling equipment, maintaining assigned equipment, and completing routine equipment checks.
  • Coordinate with the Production Team during product changeovers to help keep the line organized and running efficiently.
  • Complete Level 1 quality inspections on finished product, including checks for finished length, end cut, packaging requirements, hold tag procedures, and inventory accuracy.
  • Maintain manual data logs for finished product and dry waste.
  • Enter production, sample, quality assurance, and calibration information into required reporting and database systems.
  • Maintain raw material supply for the bundling area, replenish end tapes, and monitor end tape racks/storage.
  • Support housekeeping, 5S, WCM/Lean Manufacturing, autonomous maintenance/CIL activities, area improvement boards, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Communicate professionally with team members and complete other production-related tasks as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.

In this position, you will be an important part of the Dry End team, operating a sit-down forklift, supporting product flow, completing quality checks, and ensuring finished wallboard is properly moved, tracked, and staged throughout the plant.

Key Areas of Focus & Core Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a sit-down forklift to move finished wallboard, non-conforming product, raw materials, and equipment parts to designated plant locations.

Physical Demands & Requirements
  • Ability to safely operate equipment and perform visual inspections, including near, distance, color, and depth perception.
  • Frequent standing, walking, lifting, reaching, and repetitive hand movements.
  • Occasional climbing, balancing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent use of reading, writing, and computer-based reporting systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hearing, eye, foot, and head protection.
