Job summary

McInnis Cement in Detroit is seeking a dedicated driver responsible for delivering materials to the plant site. Key tasks include safely operating vehicles, unloading bulk materials, and maintaining proper records.

Candidates must have a valid commercial driver's license with an A and T endorsement and a good driving record. Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 pounds and climbing trailers and ladders. An excellent customer service attitude is essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Climb up bulk trailers to unfasten and open lids weighing approximately 20 lbs.
• Hook up & unhook 5” & 3” blower hose weighing approximately 30-60 lbs.
• Unloading materials using air blower for bulk material.
• Pick up printed delivery ticket from office after loading.
• Perform pre-trip vehicle safety inspections.
• Deliver load to plant site.
• Maintain tractor and trailers in good appearance.
• Communicate with dispatcher via two-way radio.
• Report maintenance requirements.
• Keep required records.
• Provide exceptional customer service.

Skills

Job description

Principal Responsibilities

• Climbing up bulk trailers to unfasten and open lids which weigh approximately 20 lbs.
• Hooking up & unhooking 5” & 3” blower hose weighing approximately 30-60 lbs.
• Unloading materials by emptying trailers using air blower for bulk material.
• Picking up printed delivery ticket by exiting vehicle, climbing stairs into office to retrieve ticket from scale personnel before and after load.
• Performing pre-trip vehicle safety inspections.
• Delivering load to plant site.
• Keeping tractor and trailers in good appearance by washing with a power washer or brush and hose.
• Communicating with dispatcher using two-way radio system.
• Reporting any maintenance requirements.
• Maintaining required record keeping.
• Providing exceptional customer service.

Qualifications (Skills, knowledge, experience)
