Job summary

H-E-B in Houston, TX is seeking a Sales Rep to stock, display, and sell products to retail customers. You will take orders, merchandise shelves, and keep back room organized for deliveries while following department procedures and safety standards.

You will provide excellent customer service and handle inventory, applying suggestive selling to maximize sales. 0–2 years experience preferred; ability to work in extreme temperatures is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of department product, food preparation, and equipment used is preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of specialty food products and food preparation essential.
• Strong customer service skills and excellent interpersonal/communication abilities.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment and in extreme temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Provide good customer service.
• Organize, clean, and prepare back area for incoming deliveries.
• Keep sales floor uncluttered and free from spills.
• Stock and rotate items as needed.
• Reset products and maintain shelf conditions and signage.
• Check shipments for out-of-date and damaged products to ensure freshness and quality.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company regulations for product freshness, safety, refrigeration, and sanitation.
• Maintain standards in shrink, safety, and inventory control.
• Assist in merchandising the department to maximize sales.
• Use suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales.
