The Wisconsin Department of Corrections is seeking a skilled facilities manager to plan and direct the institution's buildings and grounds maintenance department, coordinating building construction and remodeling with the Department of Administration and the Division of Facilities Development.
The role oversees staff and helps develop the Biennial Budget, Capital Budget, and the six-year plan to address facility needs.
This position will plan and direct the institution building and grounds maintenance department and coordinate building construction/remodeling projects with the Department of Administration (DOA) and the Division of Facilities Development (DFD). Responsibilities include maintaining buildings, property, and equipment and service systems in a safe and reliable operating condition through the supervision of subordinate staff. This position works with the Warden, Deputy Warden and Correctional Management Services Director to develop the Biennial Budget, Capital Budget and the Department of Corrections six-year building project plan; conducts inspections, develops project requests, prepares reports, and performs other duties as assigned.
The starting pay is between $40.00/hr. and $46.59/hr., plus excellent benefits. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. The pay schedule/range is 81-03. A 12-month probationary period is required.

The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency to employment.
