Job summary

Carroll County Government is seeking a Building Technician II to perform basic maintenance and repairs for County facilities from the Maintenance Center. You will work under supervision to apply carpentry knowledge and operate a range of tools and equipment, including a bucket truck, with focus on safety and efficiency.

Two or more years of related experience and a high school diploma or GED are required; a comparable amount of education and experience may substitute.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic building maintenance tasks and assist with construction projects.
  • Operate a full range of maintenance and construction tools and equipment. Maintain specialized tools and equipment, including a small bucket truck.
  • Perform snow removal at County facilities as needed.
  • Follow all established safety rules and regulations. Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.
  • Ensure all work is complete and timely to support department goals. Evaluate feedback and procedures to improve efficiency.
  • Invite collaboration and seek learning opportunities. Proactively assist peers to create a supportive work environment.
  • Exhibit integrity, ethics, and fiscal responsibility.
