American Electric Power is seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Technician B to join our facilities team. Under limited supervision, you will perform maintenance, repair, and additions to HVAC, electrical, plumbing and mechanical building systems, ensuring safety and code compliance.

You’ll diagnose and fix equipment, read blueprints, and coordinate with contractors. The role requires a valid driver's license, CAST/test completion, and willingness to work overtime and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two years as Building Maintenance Technician B or three years in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or carpentry.
• Valid state driver’s license; CAST test completed.
• Pref: electrician or HVAC license or CFC certification.
• Willingness to overtime and travel; indoor/outdoor work in all weather.

Responsabilités

• Perform preventative/predictive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems.
• Repair, install, and operate building systems and related equipment per codes and standards.
• Monitor contractors, ensure safety, quality, and contract compliance.
• General housekeeping and facility upkeep including furniture, floors, and grounds.
• Procure parts economically and maintain inspection records.
