Job Summary
The Building Systems Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of project development and management for technology systems in new build and renovation projects for hotels and multi-dwelling buildings. The ideal candidate will ensure projects are engineered in a cost-effective, profit-producing manner fair to the company and the client. This role reports to the Vice President, Property Technology Solutions.
Essential Job Functions And Responsibilities
- Provide design consulting services that comply with brand, customer, and Allbridge best practices and standards
- Build schedules including all phases of a project and provide engineering, systems design, and product knowledge
- Directly involved in quoting and engaging vendors, for quotes as necessary, to ensure accurate pricing and engineering
- Prospect with developers and owners to develop a pipeline of new build hotel or mixed-use projects
- Review architectural plans and work with the engineering team to build comprehensive technology plans
- Build a systems design to efficiently address ownership preferences and brand requirements based on our guidance as a partner
- Deliver a contract with a firm contract value
- Participate in Owner, Architect, and Consultant calls until the project is handed off to the PM
- Educate key influencers on our unique capabilities – Influencers include Architects, General Contractors, Hotel Operators/Management Companies, Brands
- Maintain a close working relationship with key internal and vendor partners
- Update BOMs, designs, and drawings as necessary for revisions or changes to plans
- Consistently integrate Allbridge’s core values into their everyday habits by treating all customers, internal and external, professionally, honestly, and respectfully
- Accept ownership and accountability of position responsibilities and strive to deliver results for customers that establish high standards, credibility, and quality performance
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years in a Sales Engineer or Solution Architect role
- Confidence to comfortably speak and email to hoteliers, developers, owners, third-party contractors, and other customers
- Comfortable with Salesforce and MS Office Suite. Ability to quickly become an expert
- Ability to lead teams
- Skilled at managing unexpected situations in a controlled manner
- Effective negotiation skills
- Great at organizing, prioritizing, and multitasking
- Experience selling smart technology (IoT) solutions is preferred
- Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methods strongly preferred
- Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and standards is a plus
- Ability to travel up to 30%
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge in Access Control (DormaKaba, Assa Abloy, Brivo, Schlage, Butterfly)
- Experience with Connectwise Quoting a plus
- Knowledge in CCTV (Hanwha a plus)
- Knowledge and understanding of back-of-house systems (computers, printers, servers)
- Knowledge of how technology hardware integrates in a network
- Knowledge in hotel software/platforms (Hotsos, Alice, Bodhi)
- ECSE (Ekahau Wifi survey software)
- Valid Aruba Professional or Expert certification (ACP, ACSP, ANCNA, ACSX, CASX, CAMX) a Plus
- Valid CWNA a Plus
