Job summary

Exelon in Rockville, MD is seeking a Building Engineer B to operate, maintain, install and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing and electrical systems across our facilities. You will inspect equipment, test systems, replace filters, calibrate controls, and troubleshoot building automation to ensure safety and efficiency.

A DC Class 3 or MD Grade 1 license and a CFC Universal Certificate are required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability and experience as a Building Engineer B or equivalent outside experience.
• Ability to comprehend and interpret prints, schematics, and specifications.
• Valid District of Columbia Class 3 Stationary Engineers license or MD Grade 1 - Stationary Engineer.
• CFC Universal Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and tests HVAC, plumbing, fire protection systems and related equipment.
• Operates, repairs, installs, maintains and services heating and air-conditioning systems and equipment.
• Maintains and repairs boilers, air compressors, water systems, piping and fittings, etc.
• Inspects and maintains plumbing fixtures, water systems and drainage lines; tests sprinkler and alarm systems.
• Monitors Building Automation Control System; optimizes HVAC, lighting, energy and other building systems.
