Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is hiring an Engineer Apprentice in Chicago, IL. You will work with seasoned engineers, gaining hands-on experience with building systems while learning the core operating engineer functions. This is a union role with Local 399 benefits.

Responsibilities include assisting with repair and preventive maintenance, maintaining records, and learning building automation and HVAC basics as part of a structured training program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of technical training through Local 399 or equivalent apprenticeship.
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist operational staff with repair and maintenance of building equipment under supervision.
• Perform preventive maintenance and monitor routine equipment to meet standards.
• Complete maintenance tasks including painting, locksmith work and electrical repairs.
• Maintain organized records and proper documentation of maintenance activities.
• Manage inventory of tools and supplies and source materials for maintenance.
• Follow safety policies for hazardous materials and keep a clean work area.
• Learn and develop proficiency with compressed air systems and supporting components.
