The Learning Lamp, in partnership with Ignite Education Solutions, is hiring a Building Substitute for the Chestnut Ridge School District. Hours follow district schedules; pay starts at 110 per day with benefits for part-time staff. Responsibilities include delivering lessons, managing classrooms, supervising students, and communicating with staff.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree and clearance. Opportunities for growth exist.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Must pass mandated clearances and training (e.g., mandated reporter training, physical, TB test).
• Ability to quickly establish rapport with students and adapt to different classroom settings.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Familiarity with school policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Classroom Management: implement lesson plans and maintain a positive classroom environment.
• Instructional Delivery: deliver lessons per established curriculum and adapt as needed.
• Student Engagement: foster activity participation and inclusive learning.
• Supervision: supervise students during class, transitions, and related activities.
• Communication: provide feedback to regular teacher and school administration.
• Follow Policies and Procedures: adhere to district rules and emergency protocols.
• Professionalism: maintain confidentiality and ethical standards.
• Flexibility: adapt to different grade levels and assignments.
• Classroom Materials: use provided materials and leave the room organized.
