Overview

We are seeking an experienced Structural Project Manager to lead and oversee the design and execution of structural engineering projects, with a strong emphasis on educational facilities including K–12 schools, colleges, and universities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing complex structural projects from concept through construction, ensuring high-quality deliverables, technical excellence, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all phases of structural engineering projects, including planning, design, coordination, and construction administration.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and other consultants on school and institutional projects.
  • Lead project teams in developing efficient, innovative, and cost-effective structural solutions tailored to educational environments.
  • Prepare and review calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and profitable delivery.
  • Conduct site visits and provide construction support, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and resolving field issues.
  • Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to maintain a culture of technical excellence and teamwork.
  • Stay current with advances in structural systems, materials, and sustainability practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required; SE license preferred.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on K–12 or higher education facility design.
  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as Revit, ETABS, SAP2000, RISA, or similar programs.
  • Strong understanding of building codes (IBC, CBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with DSA (Division of the State Architect) requirements and approval processes for California school projects.
  • Familiarity with sustainable design principles and LEED-certified projects.
  • Experience coordinating with architects, MEP engineers, and educational clients.
