Job summary

WSP is seeking a Building Special Inspector for our New York City office to conduct concrete, steel and masonry inspections on projects, aligning with plans, specifications and codes. You will generate precise reports and operate within the New York Building Structure Team to support project success.

The role requires a minimum of five years in construction inspection, a valid driver’s license, and ICC/ACI certifications; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant post-education experience in construction inspection.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• ACI or ICC Concrete Construction Special Inspector certification required.
• OSHA 10 Hr safety certification.
• Familiarity with construction inspection principles, field inspection practices, codes and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform concrete, steel and masonry inspection in buildings from drawings and specs.
• Attend pre-construction meetings and assist with contractor questions.
• Generate accurate documentation and reports of inspection findings.
• Comply with client policies, safety guidelines and project procedures.
• Collaborate with engineers, inspectors, project managers and contractors.
