Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California is seeking a Part Time/Non-Exempt Building & Security Lead at the Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Phoenix, AZ. You will supervise security staff, coordinate shifts, and ensure daily operations run smoothly.

Responsibilities include scheduling, timesheet oversight, training, hiring support, and incident reporting. Evening, weekend, and overnight availability is required, with bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Three years of work experience in security, facilities maintenance, or related field.
• Experience leading or supervising staff preferred.
• Ability to train employees and provide day-to-day direction.
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking and independent work skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• First Aid, CPR/AED certification must be obtained within two months of hire.
• Guard Card training must be completed within 30 days of start.
• Successful background check required; must be at least 18.
• Overnight shift availability; may work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Must be available for mandatory Kroc events.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day supervision and work direction to Building & Security Attendants.
• Coordinate staffing and shift coverage to maintain appropriate staffing levels.
• Set and communicate the security team's schedule.
• Monitor UKG and review/approve timesheets.
• Facilitate regular security meetings and training sessions.
• Assist Facilities Director with 90-day and annual performance reviews.
• Assist with security team hiring processes.
• Review Outlook communications and calendar events with the team.
• Coordinate with departments to ensure proper RMS data entry.
• Maintain security office organization and readiness.
• Orient contracted guards and monitor site compliance.
• Provide security presence during business hours and monitor cameras.
• Work overnight with minimal supervision.
• Follow nightly doors/windows/gates security script and report irregularities.
• Review camera footage and save clips for management review.
• Keep accurate communications log for management review.
• Investigate incidents and unusual activity as necessary.
• Report issues via Upkeep, email, and phone; escalate as needed.
• Exercise sound judgment; perform duties independently.
• Provide facility access to cleaning/maintenance vendors and monitor activities.
• Interact with clients and staff in a courteous, professional manner.
• Provide setup/takedown of furniture and equipment for programs.
• Remove trash and maintain grounds appearance.
• Operate HVAC, aquatics systems, and alarms after training.
• Respond to leaks, outages, and damage with temporary fixes.
• Perform other duties as related to Building & Security Lead.
