Job summary

Tew & Taylor is seeking a Plan Reviewer to ensure Florida Building Code compliance on construction plans. You will review architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings and collaborate with clients and authorities to facilitate efficient permitting.

Your role involves providing clear feedback, meeting tight timeframes, and staying current with code changes while maintaining detailed documentation and coordinating with the inspection team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in building code plan review or related field.
• ICC or Florida Board certification preferred; ability to obtain within six months.
• Strong knowledge of Florida Building Code and related disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed reviews of architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing plans for code compliance.
• Provide clear feedback to clients on corrections or clarifications required.
• Ensure reviews meet same-day or next-day service commitments where possible.
• Communicate with contractors, designers, and permitting officials to resolve issues.
• Stay updated on changes in building codes and apply them to reviews.
• Maintain records of reviews, correspondence, and project progress.
• Collaborate with the inspection team to facilitate project completion.
