Job summary

Citrus County Government seeks a Plans Examiner-Inspector I to review permit documents and inspect building work for code compliance, including ADA considerations. You will interact with owners, contractors, and the public to discuss issues and ensure adherence to regulations.

The role requires strong customer service, attention to detail, and proficient use of MS Office. Standard schedule is Monday to Friday, with typical 7:00 AM–4:00 PM or 8:00 AM–5:00 PM shifts, in Citrus County, Florida.

Responsibilities

• Inspect buildings and structures for code compliance during construction and demolition.
• Review construction documents and discuss potential issues with builders and designers.
• Interact with the public, owners, and designers to resolve problems.
• Maintain records and prepare routine reports.
• Lead or participate in staff meetings and events.
• Perform other duties as required.
