Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Ventura, CA seeks an Operating Engineer to perform preventive maintenance and repair of building systems, equipment and facilities under general supervision.

Responsibilities include inspecting equipment, recording maintenance activities, servicing boilers, HVAC and plumbing, reading blueprints and diagrams, and ensuring proper operation of safety devices; requires an Associate degree, California Steam Engineer license or equivalent, and Universal Chlorofluorocarbons

Qualifications

• Three to five years in building plant operations and maintenance.
• AA degree in engineering or technical disciplines related toPlant Operations, HVAC, Electrical or Plumbing.
• Knowledge of boiler, HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems.

Responsibilities

• Upholds Kaiser Permanente policies and procedures and applicable laws.
• Inspects equipment and facilities for proper operation.
• Maintains routine records and determines malfunctions.
• Repairs or replaces parts, tests for proper operation.
• May service gas/steam boilers, heaters, and related equipment.
• Reads blueprints and technical manuals; maintains building automation.
• Performs routine electrical and mechanical maintenance as assigned.
• Establishes cooperative relations with staff and members.
