Qualifications

• Education: High school graduate or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
• Experience: 8 years in building construction or inspection and 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Licensing: Valid driver's license; ICC Chief Building Official; Tennessee Codes Inspector license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Building and Code Inspector staff and operations.
• Review construction plans for code compliance and approve permits.
• Issue Certificates of Occupancy and manage permit databases.
• Respond to inquiries from contractors, owners, and the public; coordinate with boards.
