Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Utah to join our employee-owned team. You will coordinate the mechanical design effort across schematic design to contract documents and ensure code compliance with reviewing agencies.

You'll work with PMs and other disciplines at project sites, review documents for conflicts, and contribute to specs and equipment selection. A PE license and 3+ years' experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3+ years of mechanical system design experience in commercial/institutional buildings.
• PE license recognized by licensing board.
• Experience with MS Office, Trane TRACE or similar software.
• Experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
• Active participation in our employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the mechanical design team through schematic design to contract documents.
• Attend reviews with agencies for code compliance.
• Coordinate workload to meet project schedules.
• Conduct site work sessions with Project Manager and other disciplines.
• Review documents for conflicts across disciplines.
• Write and edit mechanical specifications; select equipment and systems.
• Coordinate addenda, RFIs, CPRs, change orders and incorporate changes.
• Provide construction contract administration as needed.
• Perform QA/QC on the work of others.
• Perform other duties as needed.
