Job summary

Builders FirstSource, owner of Dixieline Lumber & Home Centers, seeks an Outside Sales associate to help the sales team grow with business and industrial customers in San Diego County. The role involves visiting customers at stores, job sites, and offices to solicit orders and present product options.

The position reports to the Outside Sales team with opportunities to participate in trade shows and enhance customer relationships through effective communication and service.

Qualifications

• One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related selling experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior building materials industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads.
• Regularly travels throughout assigned territory with outside Sales Representative to call on customers.
• Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.
• Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
• Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of production and delivery schedules.
• Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
• Tracks stock levels.
• Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
• Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
• Attends trade shows.
