Job summary

Anchorage Sand & Gravel Co. Inc is seeking a capable supervisor to lead the Building Materials division, overseeing warehouse and counter sales, ensuring efficient operations and quality customer service.

The role involves training staff, coordinating with outside sales, managing inventories, invoicing, reporting to the Sales Director, and supporting special projects while maintaining safety and cost controls.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of management and supervisory experience.
• Five years of sales experience required.
• Experience coordinating sales and warehousing activities.
• Experience in warehouse supervision, including inventory control.
• Must have Alaska Driver's License and own transportation.
• Formal education after high school is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, trains and motivates counter personnel; and oversees counter operations; this includes proper invoicing, showroom appearance and efficient use of space.
• Supervises warehouse and yard personnel.
• Coordinates personnel and activities with outside sales personnel to efficiently handle both company and customer needs.
• Oversees warehouse and yard inventories and advises purchasing and sales staff of low levels and dated material.
• Oversees counter price requests, submittal and special-order form preparation.
• Oversees and accounts for counter cash and daily invoice reports.
• Provides updated sales reports, forecasts and year-end summaries to Sales Director.
• Documents and tracks all customer complaints, works with customers and sales associates in their resolution.
