Job summary

Quikrete Heavy Construction Materials in Rupert, ID is seeking an Aggregate Operations Manager to lead daily production across sand, gravel and crushed stone. You will plan, organize, and mentor a team of operators, mechanics, and plant managers to meet safety, quality and cost targets.

You will optimize plant performance, schedules, and capital expenditure across multiple locations, ensuring regulatory compliance (MSHA/OSHA) and a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of management experience in aggregate mining or raw materials production.
  • Strong knowledge of MSHA regulations and safety compliance.
  • Experience with wash plants, screeners and conveyors.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily production of sand, gravel, and crushed stone to meet targets.
  • Monitor and adjust crushing and screening for yield, quality and cost.
  • Implement preventative maintenance and optimize plant performance.
  • Ensure compliance with MSHA, OSHA and environmental regulations.
  • Manage capital expenditure across multiple locations.
  • Recruit, train and mentor operators, mechanics and plant managers.

We are looking for a Aggregate Operations Manager to join our team in Rupert, ID. The Operations Manager for Quikrete Heavy Construction Materials is accountable for leading multiple locations in plant performance by effectively planning work, organizing, and leading the plant tmanagrs and managing financial metrics while optimizing quality, safety and with respecting surrounding communities and environment . The Operations Manager is also responsible for ensuring strategies to optimize and continuously improve plant performance, production schedules, cost-effectiveness, and building talent succession and people capabilities. This position shall maintain good standing in the community, sustainable operations, and adheres to and upholds all company policies, safety standards and federal / state regulations.

About the Role
Responsibilities:
  • Supervise daily production of sand, gravel, and crushed stone to meet quality and volume targets.
  • Monitor and adjust crushing and screening operations for optimal yield, product consistency, and cost efficiency.
  • Implement best practices in preventative maintenance, plant performance, and equipment utilization.
  • Ensure compliance with MSHA, OSHA, and environmental regulations.
  • Manager the capital expenditure process for multiple locations
  • Leadership & Team Development
  • Recruit, train, and mentor a new team of operators, mechanics, and plant managers.
  • Build a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide leadership and guidance in troubleshooting production or quality issues.
  • Financial & Strategic Management
    • Manage budgets, cost controls, and inventory levels to achieve profitability targets.
    • Analyze production data to identify process improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
    • Partner with senior leadership on long-term production planning and capacity expansion.
About You
We Require:
  • Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of management experience in aggregate mining or raw materials plant production.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of MSHA regulations and a demonstrated commitment to workplace safety.
  • Operational Skills: Understanding of aggregate production equipment and processes, specifically in handling wash plant operations, screeners, and conveyors.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams, with experience managing supervisors or foremen.
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Management, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent experience is often accepted.
  • Financial & Reporting: Ability to manage inventory, production scheduling, and monitor KPIs such as cost per ton and equipment uptime.
  • Logistics: Experience in managing stockpiles and coordinating shipping/loading operations.
