Job summary

i-Pharm GxP seeks an experienced Building System Owner to take ownership of MEP building systems from construction through handover to Operations, with emphasis on QBMS/BMS platforms (Johnson Controls) and large-scale power, control and instrumentation cabling.

You will be the single point of contact for MEP status, installation readiness and coordination between Construction, CQV and Operations, ensuring smooth turnover and addressing long-lead equipment risks.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with building codes and GMP/cGMP requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the single point of contact for MEP system queries on construction status, installation and readiness.
  • Monitor installation progress across MEP equipment, distribution systems and terminations.
  • Monitor and coordinate large-scale cable pull activities (power, control and instrumentation).
  • Oversee equipment protection and preservation for BMS equipment prior to startup.
  • Participate in walkdowns and system turnover from Mechanical Completion through C&Q to handover.
  • Track MEP punch list items through to closure.
  • Coordinate interfaces between MEP and other disciplines (CSA, electrical, process, automation, utilities).
  • Provide MEP inputs into the integrated schedule and take part in look-ahead and pull-planning sessions.

About the Company

We are partnering with a leading global pharmaceutical company on a major capital project and are looking for an experienced Building System Owner to take ownership of MEP building systems from construction through to handover to Operations. This role has a strong emphasis on QBMS/BMS scope, including Johnson Controls platforms and large-scale power, control and instrumentation cable pulls.

About the Role

You will be the single point of contact for MEP system status, installation and readiness, acting as the key link between Construction, C&Q and Operations. Systems in scope include HVAC and air handling, electrical distribution, lighting and power, plumbing and domestic water, fire protection and life safety, and building automation (QBMS/BMS/BAS).

Responsibilities
  • Act as the single point of contact for MEP system queries on construction status, installation and readiness
  • Monitor installation progress across MEP equipment, distribution systems and terminations
  • Monitor and coordinate large-scale cable pull activities (power, control and instrumentation)
  • Oversee equipment protection and preservation for BMS equipment (SNEs, AHU control units, FCUs, network switches, controllers) prior to startup
  • Participate in walkdowns and system turnover from Mechanical Completion through C&Q to handover
  • Track MEP punch list items through to closure
  • Coordinate interfaces between MEP and other disciplines (CSA, electrical, process, automation, utilities)
  • Provide MEP inputs into the integrated schedule and take part in look-ahead and pull-planning sessions
  • Identify and escalation risks to readiness, including long-lead switchgear and AHU deliveries
  • Raise MEP field changes through formal change management and support NCR closure
  • Liaise with the Design Verification Lead on design queries and the Construction Quality Lead on quality matters
Qualifications
  • Familiarity with building codes, GMP requirements and cGMP facility construction
Required Skills
  • Strong background in BMS/QBMS systems, including design, control wiring, field instrumentation and terminations
  • Working knowledge of Johnson Controls (QBMS/BMS) platforms, including terminations, checks and controls integration
  • Proven experience coordinating cable pull activities on industrial or pharmaceutical construction projects
  • Experience acting as a liaison between Construction, CQV and Operations to support system turnover and startup
  • Solid understanding of construction, Mechanical Completion and C&Q processes for building MEP systems
  • Strong planning and schedule awareness, particularly around long-lead MEP equipment
  • Excellent stakeholder communication across mechanical, electrical, plumbing and automation teams
