Department: Facilities Operation and Maintenance

Salary: Commensurate with Experience/Education

Description

Maintains, repairs, and operates Energy Management Environmental Control System (EMECS) Network and other independent heating, ventilation, and air conditioning control systems. Troubleshoots and re-commission controllers.

• Responds to repair calls across campus buildings.
• Inspects, repairs, and calibrates digital and pneumatic environmental controls.
• Checks equipment operation, including thermostats, ductwork, filters, motors, controllers, and compressors; troubleshoots controllers, network systems, and fiber optic wiring.
• Performs preventative maintenance on building control systems.
• Replaces valves, actuators, sensors, thermostats, dampers, and switches.
• Re-commission controllers using proprietary software.
• May handle phone calls and enter work requests in the department database.
• Maintains communication with customers, technicians, work control, and supervisors.
• Updates workstation graphic diagrams to reflect renovations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: Specialized training in basic trades, principles, procedures, routines, or techniques in a specific area or trade, typically acquired through up to 18 months of education or training beyond high school. Vocational competence in mechanical or electronic equipment operation may be required.

Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of directly related experience.

Certification/Licensing: Valid Texas Driver's License required.
