Job summary

Fort Bend County is seeking a Building Maintenance Worker II to support parks and recreation facilities across multiple locations. The role includes delivering materials, performing electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs, painting, and basic furniture moves, with an emphasis on safety and reliability.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of related experience, and strong problem-solving and communication skills to coordinate with staff and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Delivers Parks and Recreation building maintenance materials daily between branches and delivers items from vendors; Loads/unloads bins from vehicle at multiple locations.
• Uses ticketing system to maintain record of repairs.
• Performs electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs as required.
• Responsible for painting facilities.
• Assembles and moves furniture and equipment as needed.
• Maintains routine check on general condition of buildings assigned.
• Pick up trash from parking lot and grounds of all branches.
• Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

SALARY: $17.60 - $22.00 hourly based on qualifications
