Maintenance Engineer II Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Assists with the program of preventive maintenance, including troubleshooting, lubricating and cleaning all equipment and machinery as needed.
- Operate a variety of equipment and machines including saws, drills, and various hand tools to perform repair and maintenance work. Maintains tools and equipment in a safe, clean, and proper working condition.
- Prepares the various theaters and support spaces for upcoming events.
- Maintains equipment and performs preventative maintenance.
- Monitors the BAS Systems to ensure comfort control is maintained.
- Executes work order requests and orders parts through CMMS system as needed.
- Assists in performing various refrigeration, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical related repairs.
- Cleans, vacuums, mops etc. all areas after work has been performed to maintain building cleanliness.
- Properly operates a cutting torch and undergo training in the use of Electric Arc, M.I.G., T.I.G. and acetylene welding.
- Assures compliance with appropriate safety practices and procedures with applicable federal, state, and local codes / requirements.
- Purchase tools, equipment, and materials as needed. Operate light truck to pick up and deliver equipment and supplies.
- Attends meetings when required and attends trainings to maintain current industry knowledge.
- Follows proper techniques in servicing, repairing and / or installing machinery and mechanical equipment.
- Supports the mission, vision, and values of Kentucky Performing Arts while understanding and complying with company expectations, policies, and procedures.
- Adapts well to changing priorities, deadlines, and directions with a positive and open mindset. Communicates clearly, consistently, respectfully, and collaboratively when communicating on behalf of KPA.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Maintenance Engineer II Essential Physical Requirements :
- Able to communicate clearly in all work relationships.
- Able to sit or stand for long periods of time as well as stoop, bend, kneel, and crouch.
- Able to lift and move approximately 20-50 pounds unassisted with appropriate lifting techniques and / or devices.
- Able to see, hear, and speak in a variety of environments and situations.
- This position is subject to drug and alcohol testing, including pre-employment testing, in compliance with Kentucky Performing Arts policy.
Maintenance Engineer II Education, License, and Skills :
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Valid USA driver's license required
- 5 years of related work experience preferred
- Knowledge of automated HVAC, electric, and plumbing systems required
- Knowledge of trade tools, equipment, materials, methods and techniques used in skilled and general maintenance.
- Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends as dictated by KPA event schedules and projects. Job may require occasional overtime.
- Must be flexible, self-motivated, and dependable; able to work independently with little direction.
- Above average skills in reading, writing, and speaking English.
