Job description

Position Summary :

Link Apartments Mint Street is seeking a full-time Service Technician to join our team. The Service Technician is responsible for all maintenance activities related to work orders, apartment preparations for occupancy, and implementing preventative maintenance programs. This role requires understanding the functions of the Service Supervisor and reports to the Property Manager.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Inspect and maintain HVAC systems, plumbing, roofs, gutters, and recreational facilities.
2. Assist in turning vacant apartments into ready-to-rent units, including inspections, painting, cleaning, and preparations.
3. Provide written explanations of work performed in each unit for residents.
4. Maintain a clean, safe, and well-maintained community, fostering good relations with residents.
5. Assist with pool operation and maintenance, including chemical levels and equipment.
6. Complete work orders within 24 hours.
7. Follow all safety protocols and directives.
8. Participate in 24-hour emergency call duties.
9. Learn and implement all aspects of on-site maintenance.
10. Maintain tools and equipment in good condition.
11. Report hazardous or unusual situations promptly.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications :

1. 2-5 years of relevant experience.
2. Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and carpentry.
3. HVAC certification required; willingness to obtain a Certified Pool Operator license.
4. Pleasing personality with good communication skills and ability to understand residents' concerns.
5. Mechanical skills and organizational abilities.

Physical Demands & Environmental Factors :

1. Ability to work evenings and weekends.
2. Work involves residential buildings and outdoor environments.
3. Moderate supervision; frequent movement, walking, climbing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
4. Ability to operate a golf cart.
