Job summary
The City of Allen, TX is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician to support HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building systems. You will respond to work orders, perform preventive maintenance, and assist with daily operations to keep facilities safe and functional for staff and the public.
This full-time, 40-hour role includes comprehensive benefits, such as medical/dental/vision coverage, retirement with TMRS matching, a 457 plan, paid leave, and access to city recreation
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of facility maintenance experience.
- HVAC/Refrigeration certification preferred.
- Valid Texas Class C driver’s license required.
Responsibilities
- Maintains and repairs HVAC/R, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and building interiors/exteriors.
- Replaces lights, ballasts, and installs basic security devices.
- Performs plumbing tasks such as replacing fixtures and clearing drains.
- Conducts preventive maintenance inspections and identifies safety hazards.
- Assists with operational needs and supports external contractors.
- Adapts to shifting priorities and maintains high-quality workmanship and customer service.
