Job summary

Loon Mountain Resort in Lincoln, NH seeks a hands-on Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform general and technical maintenance across resort buildings and facilities. You will support carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical and HVAC tasks, contribute to preventative maintenance, and respond to safety issues and emergencies.

The role requires reliable, self-motivated individuals with basic trade skills and a commitment to guest safety and a well-maintained resort environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; two or more years of related experience in building maintenance, construction, or a skilled trade preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general and technical maintenance and repair work across resort buildings and facilities including carpentry, painting, and structural repairs.
  • Assist Plumber and Electrician on installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks as directed.
  • Perform minor plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, heating system, and appliance repairs within scope of the position.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance tasks; identify and report potential issues before they become failures.
  • Complete interior and exterior painting projects, including surface prep, priming and finish work.
  • Respond to maintenance emergencies in a timely and effective manner.
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of functions and events as needed.
  • Operate company vehicles and equipment safely.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization on project sites and department work areas.
  • Assist other departments with maintenance needs as directed by Facilities Maintenance Manager.
  • Communicate status, material needs, and safety concerns with team and leadership.
  • Maintain a positive, guest-friendly attitude in all interactions and attend required trainings.

The Facilities Maintenance Technician performs a wide range of general and technical maintenance, repair, and improvement work across Loon Mountain Resort's buildings and facilities. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role that supports all trades within the Building Maintenance and Electrical department - including carpentry, painting, plumbing assist, electrical assist, HVAC support, and preventative maintenance. The ideal candidate is reliable, self-motivated, mechanically inclined, and committed to maintaining a safe and well-functioning resort environment for guests and team members.

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND REESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform general and technical maintenance and repair work across all resort buildings and facilities including carpentry, painting, and structural repairs.
  • Assist the Plumber and Electrician on new installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks as directed.
  • Perform minor plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, heating system, and appliance repairs within the scope of the position.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance tasks as assigned; identify and report potential issues before they become failures.
  • Complete a variety of interior and exterior painting projects throughout the resort including surface preparation, priming, and finish work.
  • Respond to building and facility maintenance emergencies in a timely and effective manner.
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of functions and special events as needed.
  • Operate company vehicles and equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization on all project sites and in department work areas.
  • Assist other resort departments with maintenance needs as directed by the Facilities Maintenance Manager.
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers and department leadership regarding task status, material needs, and any safety concerns.
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and guest-friendly attitude in all resort interactions.
  • Attend all required company and department training programs.
  • Contribute to team effort by participating in safety meetings, job sharing, and accepting diverse assignments as operational needs require.
  • Meet service level objectives and departmental goals as established by the Facilities Maintenance Manager.
Responsibility To Safety
  • Protect the safety of self, co-workers, and Loon Mountain Resort guests at all times.
  • Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.
  • Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.
  • Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures.
  • Operate equipment in a safe manner that will not lead to injury of yourself or others.
  • Drive in accordance with the law and Loon Mountain Resort policies.

Qualifications

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED required. Two or more years of related experience in building maintenance, construction, or a skilled trade preferred. Equivalent combination of education and hands‑on experience will be considered.

Language Skills

Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in a professional manner with team members, contractors, and resort leadership.

Mathematical Skills

Working knowledge of basic mathematics, measurements, and estimation as required for facilities and project work.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve practical problems in a dynamic resort environment, sometimes under time pressure or adverse conditions.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid NH Driver's License. Resort certification on all required equipment. Additional trade certifications are a plus and will be supported through professional development.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands and fingers. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands and fingers, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions including extreme cold. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and varying noise levels. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.
