Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Building Maintenance Mechanic for a large commercial and hospital facility in Maryland. You will inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, ensuring safe and reliable operation and compliance with applicable codes.

Working under general supervision, you’ll apply broad trades knowledge, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and document activities while supporting continuous facility operations across multiple zones and

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in building maintenance in commercial or institutional settings.
• Proficient in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry tasks.
• Experience with troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
• Knowledge of safety rules and OSHA standards.
• Ability to read and follow building codes and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair building systems and components (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical).
• Perform preventive maintenance per trade standards.
• Troubleshoot issues and complete repairs to restore operation.
• Use hand and power tools safely per OSHA guidelines.
• Document activities and communicate in written/verbal English.
• Work across shops, mechanical rooms, and facility areas; handle tools and materials.
