Job summary

City of Concord is seeking a maintenance technician to oversee the upkeep of city buildings and structures. You will perform basic carpentry, plumbing and electrical repairs, obtain materials, and price equipment for maintenance projects.

This role requires maintaining reports and daily logs, assisting with inventories, and participating in rotational on-call duties. A fingerprint screening is required before employment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of carpentry, plumbing and electrical principles.
• Knowledge of local, state and federal laws and regulations.
• Valid North Carolina Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Oversee upkeep of City facilities and perform basic repairs (carpentry, plumbing, electrical).
• Inventory and procure materials needed for projects and maintain price quotes for equipment.
• Maintain reports and daily logs of work progress; participate in rotational on-call duties.

Job description

The purpose of this position is to oversee the upkeep of City buildings, structures. This is primarily accomplished by making repairs, obtaining materials and parts, and pricing equipment to be used for maintenance.

Please Note: An offer of employment is contingent upon successful clearance of a fingerprint screening. If the incumbent fails to obtain clearance through the fingerprint screening, they will not be able to access all necessary City buildings and therefore, may be subject to termination.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Travels and maintains and repairs City facilities. Performs basic carpentry, building and plumbing repairs. Inventories and purchases material needed for projects. Performs regular maintenance and servicing of shop and hand tool equipment. Maintains reports and daily logs of work progress. Rotational on-call responsibilities.

Performs other similar duties as required.
