Job summary

NCG Hospitality is seeking a Building Maintenance Assistant for the Hampton Inn & Suites Phoenix Downtown. You’ll respond to maintenance requests and help keep the property in top condition, with a starting wage of $20/hour and potential increases for experienced candidates.

The role emphasizes routine preventive maintenance, grounds upkeep, and safe, compliant operations across guest areas, pools, and common spaces. A day shift Sunday through Thursday is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of building maintenance experience.
• General knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and building construction.
• Familiarity with common power and hand tools.
• Ability to perform task-oriented, repetitive work accurately and on time.

Responsibilities

• Respond to maintenance requests and support overall property upkeep.
• Perform guest room preventive maintenance (painting, battery checks, smoke detectors, HVAC cleaning).
• Maintain grounds, landscaping, outbuildings and parking areas in a safe, neat condition.
• Assist in maintaining pool, spa and general areas per local codes and brand standards.
• Respond promptly to reports of guest problems and concerns.

How You'll Make an Impact

Our detail-oriented Building Maintenance Assistant responds to maintenance requests, and supports the overall upkeep of the property.

• Performs guest room preventative maintenance duties such as painting, battery replacement, smoke detector checks andHVAC cleaning
• Maintains the grounds, landscaping, outbuildings and parking areas in a clean, neat, safe and attractive manner
• Assists in maintaining pool, spa and general area of the property according to specific local codes and brand standards
• Promptly responds to reports of guest problems and concerns

To Be Successful In This Role, You'll Bring

• Prior hotel, building or apartment maintenance experience is desirable, but not necessary
• General knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building construction
• Operation knowledge of common power and hand tools
• Ability to perform task-oriented repetitive functions consistently, on-time and error free
• Ability to be patient and creatively problem solve
