Job summary

The Cedar Rapids Community School District seeks a Building Leadership Member (BLT) at Roosevelt to collaborate with building administration, develop, implement, and evaluate the School Improvement Plan using the BLT Framework and data.

This role involves coaching teachers, facilitating PLCs, utilizing equity-focused pedagogy, and participating in professional learning; up to 8 positions, extra duty, compensation of $500 annually.

Qualifications

• Reflective, growth‑oriented, seeks and acts upon feedback, and willing to be coached.
• Deep knowledge of equity principles and culturally responsible pedagogy to identify and address inequitable practices.
• Ability to train and coach in the New Art & Science of Teaching.
• Willingness to become knowledgeable in the Building Leadership Team framework.

Responsibilities

• Co‑create, implement, and monitor the building school improvement plan aligned with the Building Teacher Leadership Framework.
• Facilitate PLCs addressing curriculum, assessment, instruction, and student achievement.
• Provide job‑embedded professional development aligned with teacher instructional growth goals.
• Establish measurable goals focused on critical student achievement needs.
