OAPSE transfer bid requests via internal applications will be accepted until 12:00 pm on 7/24/2026.

External applications will be accepted, if position is not filled internally.

Contract

Days/Hours: 9-month; 5.75 hours per day.

Report Times: Report times will vary based on the building needs.

Salary: $15.27 starting hourly rate with annual step increases in accordance with the OAPSE negotiated agreement.

Reports To: Technology Supervisor or designee.

Evaluations: Performance evaluated annually in accordance with the OAPSE negotiated agreement.

Position Summary

The Building IT Support Technician serves as a customer support representative of the District Technology Department within assigned school buildings. The technician provides direct, responsive, and professional assistance to teachers, administrators, and other District employees who experience technology-related problems or need help using District equipment and approved applications.

The technician diagnoses and resolves routine technology concerns involving computers, Chromebooks, printers, monitors, telephones, interactive displays, projectors, document cameras, software, user accounts, network connectivity, and other technology used throughout the building. The technician maintains accurate service and inventory records and refers advanced, recurring, or security‑related matters to Technology Department leadership.

The technician is assigned primarily to designated school buildings but remains a member of the District Technology Department. The employee works under the direction of the Technology Supervisor or designee and collaborates with building administrators and staff to provide timely, courteous, and effective customer service. Building assignments may be adjusted by the District based on enrollment, staffing, technology projects, service demands, or other operational needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

The (6-12) Building IT Support Technician will primarily support Austintown Middle School, Austintown Fitch High School, Central Office, Food Services and Maintenance Departments.

Skills Testing Is Required

The skills test will cover required computer technician skills. A passing score in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement is required.

The successful candidate must have the following on file before starting
  • Successful completion of skills testing
  • Current favorable BCII (State) and FBI (Federal) background checks
  • Rapback Enrollment through the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce
  • Ohio Auditor of State Fraud Reporting and Training
  • Negative drug screen result
