Job summary

The City of Winter Park, FL is seeking a Building Inspector/Plans Examiner I, II or III to review construction plans for code compliance, assist applicants with permit processing, and conduct inspections.

Under supervision, you will issue and file permits, coordinate plan approvals, and verify that residential and commercial projects meet adopted Building Codes. Florida licensure or provisional eligibility is required or can be pursued upon hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 4+ years construction experience.
• Electrical/Mechanical/Plumbing experience preferred.
• Possess relevant Florida certifications or ability to obtain provisional license within 120 days.

Responsibilities

• Review plans for code compliance and assist applicants with permits.
• Route and track plans through approval process and issue permits.
• Inspect buildings to ensure adherence to codes and approved plans.
