Job summary

The City of Greenacres is seeking a skilled Building Inspector to review plans, inspect installations, and ensure compliance with the Florida Building Code and local ordinances. This position requires a valid Standard Inspector license and Plans Examiner license, a minimum of four years’ experience, and a high school diploma or GED with technical training in construction.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with technical training in construction.
• Minimum four years’ experience as building inspector or supervisor in construction.
• Must be licensed as Standard Inspector and Plans Examiner in one category.
• Additional license may be required to obtain provisional license within six months.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License required.
• Bi-lingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review permits, plans, and documents for compliance with Building codes.
• Inspect building installations for conformance with codes and regulations.
• Ensure contractors secure permits before inspections.
• Maintain inspection records and report findings.
• Assist with code enforcement and continue education requirements.
