Job Responsibilities

1. Perform field inspections during various stages of construction.
2. Read and examine plans and specifications as required.
3. Report violations and maintain files/records.
4. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills and Knowledge

• Extensive knowledge of local building codes and current construction procedures/technology.
• Ability to interpret codes in the field and provide compliant solutions.
• Strong interpersonal skills for positive interactions with staff, the public, contractors, and officials.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good time management, organization, and attention to detail.
• Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment.

Qualifications

• PA or ICC Building Inspector Certification required.
• Additional certifications preferred.
• Municipal code inspection experience is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record required.
