A leading company in the community development sector is seeking a Building Inspector to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations. This role involves plan reviews and field inspections for new and existing constructions. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and relevant experience in inspections and code enforcement, along with necessary certifications. A valid driver license and a background check are required.
Under general direction of the Community Development Director or his/her designee, the Building Inspector performs technical work in enforcing compliance with building codes, regulations, and ordinances, including the International Building Code (IBC), Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS), and Nevada Administrative Codes (NAC). This is an entry-level position in the Building Inspector series, involving plan review and field inspections of new and existing structures for code compliance.
Building Inspector I
$58,308.17 - $79,468.06
Required certifications include ICC Residential Inspector and ICC Commercial Inspector within 12 months of hire. Additional certifications are preferred. Must possess a valid Nevada Driver License and pass a criminal background check.
Building Inspector II
$64,361.30 - $84,751.52
Additional certifications are preferred. Must possess a valid Nevada Driver License and pass a criminal background check.
